Wareemba Renovation

This major renovation with views of Canada Bay modernised a dark, out-dated and cramped 1960s home into contemporary open plan living spaces.

The home belonged to our client’s parents. When designing the home, we considered not only the natural surrounds and structural elements but also aspects that held sentimental value to the owners.

Claustrophobic living areas became a warm and inviting, with bright open kitchen, dining and living areas.

We created the welcoming feel using a neutral colour scheme broken up with rich, warm elements including the lighting, the choice of furniture and the use of copper features in the kitchen.

The home’s views of Canada Bay are now framed by bold black windows in the living area.

Another way we modernised the home was by creating two strikingly different bathroom designs. The first floor bathroom continues the theme of warmth and comfort found in the living areas of the home by featuring a palette of concrete and timber. By contrast, the ground floor bathroom is finished in dramatic black and white graphic tiles that are offset by the neutral vanity.

“Nathalie and her team are consummate professionals. I wanted to modernise my house and Nathalie came in with her team and changed a dark out-dated space into a fresh modern liveable environment, full of light and striking features. Builders and contractors alike were courteous and caring. We were kept in the loop at all times and the end result is beautiful.”
