The project involved a total renovation including a significant rear addition to an existing brick single storey dwelling.The result was a new kitchen and living area downstairs, and a mezzanine, bedroom, master bedroom, ensuite and walk in robe upstairs.

We designed and placed a laser cut screen over the skylight in the stairwell captures the natural sunlight as well as casts a continual change of pattern on the stairs throughout the day.

A larger similar laser cut screen was also used in the outdoor area for privacy and protection from the sun.

We gave the family home a contemporary look by using a palette of polished concrete, black aluminium framed windows and a deep blue kitchen to contrast with the warmth of the spotted gum flooring.
