Macquarie Ice Rink

We designed a major refurbishment of the Macquarie Centre ice rink. The ice rink has been operating within the Macquarie Centre for 30 years. The shopping centre that also underwent an extensive refurbishment.

Our design, the materials and finishes chosen had to stand up to the conditions within the ice rink. Durability and resistance to moisture were important factors to consider.

Our aim was to revitalise all existing areas of the rink by introducing colour and texture into the cold environment.

The works include a new shop front and reception area, reconfigured office spaces, a new gym, a new enclosed café, new fixtures and fittings to all bathrooms, and new wall and floor finishes throughout.

We worked closely with the builder, RBS, to ensure the proposal remained within the budget, and that the documentation requirements from the Macquarie Shopping Centre Management were met.
